Twenty two months three weeks

Hello world!

I went to visit my grandparents in London. I haven't seen them in ages and ages. My grandad is my new best friend. I build stuff with him. My nana makes the best pork. I ate all mine and asked for more. Twice. I played with my cousin Grace, too. She's three but she's good at playing.

When I went walking with my mama, I couldn't see our dog. I asked my mama, "Where dog?" Then our dog ran out from behind the trees. I said, "There is!" At home I saw my dad's boot and asked my mama, "Where dad?" But he wasn't there.

I know lots of signs for animals. I know how to sign caterpillar, bear, dog, duck, and more. I can sign other words too. I sign wee-wee, again, milk, bath, sleep, all gone. I'm good at signing.

My neighbor called Eileen always gives me juice when I visit. I love visiting her. She always says, do you want juice? I always say, "Yes!"

Love,

Franklin

Hello world!

I know what kind of music I like. I like piano, especially when I help my mama play it. I sit on her lap and she plays the notes and I play the ones she misses. I also like the radio a lot. I ask my mama to turn it on and I clap when the songs end. Before bathtime my dad turns on the Angry Bird song. I love that song; I sing along to it. One time my dad wasn't home so my mama gave me a bath. I asked her for the song only she didn't have it. Bathtime wasn't the same without it.

I'm tall enough to reach the counters in the kitchen. I can grab stuff like chocolate, and if I see something I can't reach I tell my mama.

My new best word is "uh-oh." I say it when something falls on the floor or comes apart. I also say "yuck" when I see dog poo on the ground. I don't step in it.

If my mama or dad is doing something without me, I don't like it much. Sometimes I'm too busy with my own things but other times I need attention! When my mama got out the vacuum, I didn't want her to use it. I got really upset when she didn't listen to me, so I did the one thing I knew would make her pay attention: I signed "wee-wee." She turned off the vacuum right then! I was just pretending about needing to pee, but she still ran with me to the toilet and I had to sit on it. I had to sit on it till I peed before I could get off. At least she paid me some attention though, instead of that dumb old vacuum.

Love,

Franklin

Hello world!

I really like the cupboards in the kitchen. I open them and organize the stuff inside. I'm not supposed to organize the glass jars but sometimes I do it anyway.

I also like helping with housework. I like to put away shoes, books, and rubbish. I really like to sweep; I get out the broom and mop and use them both at the same time. I still love laundry, too. When the washing machine finishes, I put it all in the basket.

I heard the rubbish truck coming down our street, and I ran over to my mama and asked her to pick me up so I could see. She told me to climb up on the chair, so I did. I stood on the chair and watched the men and the bins and the truck. I watched it till they went away, and I said bye-bye. I also watched a delivery truck with my dad. It beeped so I knew it was there; my dad picked me up and I pointed to it. Then the driver waved at me! When he drove off, I told my dad "beep beep all gone."

Love,

Franklin

Hello world!

I read books myself, and make all the noises. I had a really cool library book with lots of great pictures of cars, trucks, trains, and everything like that. It was so good, I didn't want my mama to take it back to the library. We renewed it two times! Then the librarian said I could have it since I love it so much, because it was too worn out to go back. I was so happy! It's called Things That Move.

I used to just like turning the pages, but now I like to read the story, too. My dad reads me a book called Caps For Sale, and I wait for him to read it before I turn the next page.

My mama sometimes dances with me. She picks me up and we dance and spin. Or I stand in front of her and we hold hands to dance. When a waltz plays on the radio we always dance. My dad dances the Franklin dance with me.

My mama sings the Franklin song to me. It goes like this:
"I got rhythm
I got music
I got Franklin
Who could ask for anything more?"
Love,

Franklin
